I liked these enough that I got a second pair within weeks of getting the first pair. I wear them every day to work at my desk job, so I can't comment on what they're like if you stand all day. I didn't buy them because they're military reproduction, and I don't know anything about that so I can't comment on authenticity. They are very nice, rough out, full-grain leather. The smooth side is in against your feet and the suede-like flesh side of the leather is out. That's what "rough out" means for these boots. They are stiff and sturdy and need a little walking to break them in. You can put neatsfoot oil on them and that will soften them a little bit but will also darken the color. Even if you put the neatsfoot oil on unevenly it will eventually spread out through the leather and become even - but that takes a day or two.The laces are garbage. I replaced them with leather laces from Nick's Boots and like the upgrade a lot.I also cut insoles from thick veg tan leather and that takes up some of the space that comes when the boots stretch out a little. They run very large. I usually wear a size 13 boot, but in these I'm a 12, and that's with the thick leather insole that I added. They look great, but like all suede-like leather they'll eventually start to look a little ratty. My first pair has gotten to that point and I addressed it by waxing them which smoothed the surface out and also darkened them a lot. I like the result, and I'm glad I did it. My second pair still look brand new and so I haven't waxed them.
