Easy to assemble, it handles around 10 sheets of paper with ease (I didn't count them, could be a couple/three more or less as I was peeling sheets off of reams of old paper records into the shredder after scanning them to disk). Chomps them right up.. not loud at all. I've learned it's actually slower "over-feeding" the slot - too many sheets in any shredder causes jams and need for reversals, but so far if I've fed 12 or 14 20lb bond sheets it hasn't complained (again, I'm not counting). The "confetti" piles up in the middle - when the "bin full" light comes on and the shredder stops, pop out the basket and give it a quick shake to settle and then keep shredding, usually do this a couple times before it actually needs emptying into my "yard-waste/compost bin" for curb disposal. Attractive enough to sits next to my desk unobtrusively, and it gets all the junk mail too.Only thing that kept me from giving this five stars was the reverse position on the switch is flaky - feels a little cheap and you have to hold your tongue right on occasion. However, the only time I've had to use it is for the occasional oil/sharpener sheet feed - both directions to "sharpen" the blades. There is a noticeable delay of about a second before activating when sheets are fed, and before stopping after the shredding is complete. I haven't tried to test the advertised one-hour continuous-shred limit, I get tired feeding paper into it before it gets tired chewing it up.Don't abuse it and I think it'll last a lot longer than my old cheap 4-sheet strip shredder..This is a very quiet shredder, I'm very pleased with the reduction in noise from our last shredder, as well as the other features. We are using it home, but it would be perfect in an office setting, as well. The auto-on/off is nice, more useful in an office, but could useful if doing a lot of shredding at one time at home. It's quick and shreds the paper into very small pieces. I have not tried to shred a credit card or CD yet. I used a shredder basket plastic bag in the beginning, but it tore as I pulled the full bag out, so now I just let the shredded bits fall into the basket and dump it when full. The overall size of the shredder is smaller than our old one, but it works better and faster, so it seems a win all the way around for me.Shipping was extremely quick and I was able to track my order easily.I bought this paper shredder in 2020. Since then, it has chewed and digested anything I've fed it, including mottled, water-and-age-damaged papers. I haven't pressed my luck with credit cards, but it would probably do well with those, too. My previous shredder died after a few weeks of constant use. This one shows no sign of stuttering or stopping.Another reviewer complained that you can't attach a plastic bag to the shredder's removable basket, and that spills seemed unavoidable. Here's how you avoid them: empty the basket whenever it is one quarter to one third full. This practice will fit in well with the company's advice that you give the shredder rests when feeding it a huge project. Check the window of the basket, and when you see an inch of paper rise to the level of visibility, empty the basket. That's what I do and, even though my trash bin is three inches smaller than the shredder's basket, I have yet to spill more than three tiny shreds at any point during my constant use of this machine.I bought this to replace an old Black & Decker model that I bought from Walmart. I’m going to be comparing this new shredder against that one. 1st off this new shredder is crazy quite compared to the old one that is a definite bonus here. My old shredder sat on top of its can and you couldn’t see inside of the can to know when it was getting full. This new one slides out from the front and has a window that clearly shows the level of the shredded paper. The old shredder also left the strips much longer which you would think wasn’t an issue but it caused the shreds to pile up in the center of the can causing it to prematurely trip the full sensor. This new shredder cuts the shreds much shorter and fills the can pretty level. If it dies pile in the center all it takes is a quick shake of the can and it all rolls flat and level in the can. There are some issues that 1st time users should be aware of. The can that the shreds fall into does not appear to be sealed at the base. When I first put it together I followed the instructions for lubricating the blade assembly expecting that the excess oil would be caught by the can. Sadly moments later I noticed the oil leaking onto my floor under the can. Luckily I don’t have carpets so I was able to just wipe it up.Also of note the selector switch that turns the unit on feels very cheap. I had thought that it would be best to set it to the auto position and then forget it but all over the instructions, they tell you that you should always turn it off and unplug it when not in use. That seems a bit excessive to me.So far I have run several bills and financial statements through it. None more than 4 sheets at a time. I hope not to test the 12 heet limit just to make it last as long as possible. My old shredder lasted 15 years. I’ve also ran 1 credit card through it and was impressed that I couldn’t tell the difference between the plastic and paper shreds when I checked out the aftermath in the can.I will try to update this review as my experience with the machine progresses. This is a quiet, compact, reliable shredder. It minces paper and credit cards into tiny confetti. This is VERY quiet. Our previous shredder could be heard all over the house. This one is MUCH better. Its integral removable bin is easy to empty ... this works best by dumping it directly into a trash bag.Had a very old shredder that went bad and purchased this model. The other shredder we had wasn't on wheels and it was quite a back breaking process trying to empty it. This model moves easily to where it is needed and you don't have to lift out the shredder blades in order to empty it. On this model, all you have to do is open the front compartment and dump your shredded paper. We like how convenient that is.If you are well organized and can shred your documents one at a time as you need rather than letting them pile up to be done as a big job then a small shredder will work for you. This however is a shredder for the real world where you need to get through a large stack of paperwork that needs shredding 8-10 parses at a time by the box load and you’re going to take an afternoon dedicated to the task. We tried two smaller units the pretty much self destructed when put to the mammoth task. This shredder however took it one and made shredding easy and fun.Don’t wast your money and time buying a cheep shredder if you’ve got boxes of old paperwork to dispose of. Get a real shredder to begin withThis shredder shreds! It reduces paper, CDs, and cards (I tried some of each) into tiny particles that I defy anyone to reassemble. It has one of the longest run-times of shredders that I had researched, and I was able to shred a decade of personal, expired paperwork in one session, filling the large box in which the shredder was delivered. It is reasonably quiet, and the automatic on/off feature is very convenient. It did not jam even once, and it would run non-stop until its shredded paper level sensor would read a full bin, at which point it would stop shredding and tell you that the bin needs to be emptied. After emptying the bin, the shredder would restart on its own, continuing to shred the paper that was in mid-shred when it had stopped. I recommend this shredder for someone looking for a powerful and capable shredder that is listed at a very competitive price. This is a great shredder. What makes this unit stand out for me is the 60 min continuous runtime (others are usually 10 min) and that it is so quiet. I can have a conversation / call and there is no issue. It is up to the P4 standard for shredded size and then some. This is fine for the documents I have. The only reason it not a P5 level of security is that the width of the shredded pieces are slightly wider than the standard for P5 (4mm vs 2mm). I still cannot read anything on the pieces even if 4mm wide!I recommend getting this unit - especially given the cost.Cheers!Bought it for the longevity of the continuous operation and it did not disappoint. Tried it out on CDs and credit cards and it worked like a charm. Warning and auto stop feature when it was at the limit was great. Only once or twice it I put a little too much paper in and had to use the antijam feature, but it immediately stopped and prompted me, unlike my old machine that got overheated and died before I was warned. Full bin detection is both a bonus and an annoyance as the forward placement of the shredder causes the shredded paper to pile up on one side, triggering the sensor that the bin is full long before it is, and several times before it is actually full. Central placement of the blades would work better. The only other option that would be useful is a way to automatically hold the paper as you feed it (e.g., a tray). All in all though, I am extremely pleased so far.
