Bought these shoes for a trip to Belize, where I knew I would be doing a lot of hiking in jungle areas where I'd be wading through rivers, and spelunking through some caves where we'd be in the water half the time, and climbing around on rocks the other half of the time. These shoes handled rocky and muddy trails as well as the interior of caves, were easy to wade and swim with, dried fast, and were extremely comfortable and versatile in all kinds of terrain. Absolutely the perfect shoes to have for any hiking situation where you expect to get your feet wet. A few of our tour guides in Belize noticed how well my shoes were working for our excursions and asked me where they can get some of their own. Put a lot of miles on these shoes without socks and didn't get a single blister. Don't get a cheaper substitute - these are 100% worth the money.
